SILVER SWANS

Grace, Strength & Confidence - At Any Age

At MK Dance, we believe it is never too late to dance. Our Silver Swans Ballet classes are specially designed for adults aged 55 and over, offering a joyful, gentle, and inspiring way to stay active, improve mobility, and reconnect with the pleasure of movement - all within a warm and welcoming community.

Created by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Silver Swans classes are delivered by specially trained teachers and are suitable for complete beginners through to those returning to ballet later in life. Whether you have danced before or are stepping into a studio for the very first time, you will be supported every step of the way.

Silver Swans is a carefully structured ballet programme that uses classical ballet technique in a safe, accessible, and enjoyable way. Each class includes:

Gentle warm-ups to ease the body into movement

Barre work to support balance, posture, and strength

Simple centre exercises to improve coordination and confidence

Graceful classical movements set to beautiful music

All exercises can be adapted to suit individual needs, and chairs or support are always available.

Silver Swans classes support both physical and mental wellbeing, helping you to improve mobility, posture, and balance, build strength and coordination, increase energy levels and overall confidence, support joint health and flexibility, reduce stress and boost mood and stay socially connected in a friendly, relaxed environment.  Many dancers also report improved memory, focus, and a renewed sense of joy.
