No. MK Dance offers a free, no-obligation trial. It gives you or your child the opportunity to meet the teacher, experience the class and see whether MK Dance is the right fit before joining. There is no commitment to continue after your trial.

What dance classes does MK Dance offer?

MK Dance offers ballet, tap, modern, musical theatre and other dance opportunities for children, as well as adult ballet and tap classes and Silver Swans ballet for adults aged 55+. 5

Does my child need dance experience before joining MK Dance?

No. Beginners are very welcome at MK Dance. Our classes are designed to support children at different stages of their dance journey, whether they are taking their very first class or already have several years of experience. For younger children, mk minis requires no previous dance experience and provides a gentle introduction to movement and music.

6

What should my child wear to their first dance class?

For a trial, your child does not need to have a full MK Dance uniform. Comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely is suitable for their first class. Once they join, children are expected to wear the appropriate uniform for their class. MK Dance has its own online shop with leotards, dance shoes and other essential dancewear.

7

Does MK Dance offer dance exams?

Yes. MK Dance offers recognised dance examinations in Ballet, Tap and Modern. Our Ballet classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, while our Tap and Modern classes follow Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabuses. Exams are optional, and pupils are entered when their teacher feels they are ready and have reached the required standard.

8

Is MK Dance suitable for shy children or children who lack confidence?

Yes. Building confidence is one of the core aims of MK Dance. Classes are designed to be welcoming, encouraging and supportive, helping dancers develop confidence alongside their technical skills. Our ethos focuses on learning and development, friendship and fun, and helping every dancer feel that they belong.

9

What happens as my child gets older at MK Dance?

MK Dance offers a progressive dance journey as children grow. Dancers can begin with mk minis, move into the Main School from age 4 and progress through RAD ballet and ISTD tap and modern grades. Older and more advanced dancers can also access MK Associate opportunities, including performances, industry workshops and West End pathways.

10

Can adults join MK Dance if they have never danced before?

Absolutely. MK Dance welcomes adult beginners as well as experienced dancers. Adult ballet and tap classes are designed for people who want to try something new, return to dance after a break, improve their technique or simply enjoy a fun and sociable weekly class.

11

What adult dance classes does MK Dance offer?

MK Dance currently offers adult Ballet and Tap classes for dancers aged 18+, welcoming complete beginners through to those with previous experience.
